Kidd Metallurgical Site

The Kidd Metallurgical Site (or Met Site) is a metallurgical facility in Timmins, Ontario, Canada. It was built in 1980 and owned and operated by Xstrata Copper, following their 2006 takeover of Falconbridge Ltd. The site employs approximately 675 hourly employees. The plant is 27 kilometres southeast of the Kidd Mine, and houses a concentrator, copper smelter and refinery, zinc plant, cadmium plant, indium plant and a sulphuric acid plant.

Kettle Lakes Provincial Park

Kettle Lakes Provincial Park is a provincial park in north-eastern Ontario, about 30 km east of Timmins. It is administered by Ontario Parks, which classifies it as a recreation park. The landscape of the park is the legacy of the retreat of an enormous glacier at the end of the last Ice Age, approximately 12,000 years ago. After the glacier retrated, half-buried icebergs melted to form small, deep lakes referred to by earth scientists as kettle lakes.

Pick Lake (Cochrane District, Ontario)

Pick Lake is a small endorheic lake in Timmins, Cochrane District, Ontario, Canada. It is about 500 metres long and 200 metres wide, and lies at an elevation of 312 metres about 10.8 kilometres northwest of the Timmins neighbourhood of Connaught and 3.3 kilometres west of Frederick House Lake.
