Libertador General Bernardo O'Higgins Region

The VI Libertador General Bernardo O'Higgins Region (Spanish: VI Región del Libertador General Bernardo O'Higgins) is one of Chile's 15 first order administrative divisions. It is subdivided into three provinces. It is named in honour of Bernardo O'Higgins Riquelme, one of Chile's founding fathers.

El Teniente

El Teniente ("The Lieutenant") is an underground copper mine in the Chilean commune of Machalí in Cachapoal Province, Libertador General Bernardo O'Higgins Region, near the town of Sewell, 2,300 m above mean sea level in the Andes. Mining at El Teniente is reported to have started as early as 1819.

Estadio El Teniente

Estadio El Teniente is a multi-purpose stadium in Rancagua, Chile. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 14,450 people and was built in 1945 with the name Braden Copper Company Stadium (Estadio Braden Copper Co.). The stadium hosted several matches of World Cup Soccer in 1962. It's being used by O'Higgins F.C. , the team of the city of Rancagua.
