It is located on the grounds of the Zhan Garden, a historical garden in Nanjing, China. The building was originally a palace of the first ruler of the Ming Dynasty, Hongwu . In 1853, it became the residence of Yang Xiuqing, a military leader in the Taiping Rebellion. In 1958, it became the site of the current museum.

Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception (Nanjing)
The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Nanjing (圣母无染原罪始胎堂), commonly known as Shigu Road Cathedral (石鼓路天主教堂) to the locals, is a late 19th century church that serves as the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Nanking. It is located in the downtown area of the city at 112 Shigu Road. First built in 1870 during the Qing dynasty, it was later severely damaged during the Northern Expedition War and had to be rebuilt by the Chinese government in 1928.

The tower is under construction as of April 2006 however is topped out making it the 89th tallest existing building in the world when measured up to the highest architectural point which is the spire. The tower is part of the New Century Plaza complex which features two towers.

Jinling Hotel
Jinling Hotel Nanjing is a hotel in Nanjing, China, located near the city's Xinjiekou district. "Jinling" is an old name for Nanjing which is often used to refer to the city in a poetic context. The hotel was Nanjing's first modern hotel and is still often regarded as the pre-eminent five-star hotel in Nanjing. Jinling Hotel was the highest building in China. The hotel also has nine restaurants of differing cuisine types.
