Envigado

Envigado is a city of Colombia in the department of Antioquia, located at the south of the Aburrá Valley and belonging to The Metropolitan Area of the Aburrá Valley. It has limits at its north with El Poblado, Medellín; at its south with Sabaneta; at its east with El Retiro and Caldas and at west with Itagüí. The origin of its name is unknown, but some researchers associated it with "beam" (viga in Spanish). It is also the city of the Colombian philosopher Fernando González.

La Catedral

La Catedral was a prison overlooking the city of Medellín in Colombia. The prison was built to specifications ordered by Medellín Cartel leader Pablo Escobar, under agreement with the Colombian government. Escobar would surrender to authorities, serve a maximum term of five years, and the Colombian government would not extradite him to the United States.

José María Córdova International Airport

José María Córdova International Airport is the main airport serving the Colombian city of Medellín and its surrounding metropolitan area. The airport is located about 30 minutes from the urban area by the new Las Palmas express way, in the municipality of Rionegro. It is the second largest airport in Colombia after the El Dorado International Airport of Bogotá in terms of infrastructure and passenger service.

Envigado bridge

The Peldar Bridge at Envigado is a concrete cable-stayed bridge in Envigado, Colombia.. The bridge carries Las Vegas avenue and crosses 37 Street. The construction of the bridge was also central to the regeneration plan for the neighborhood. This bridge was conceived as representation of the effort and persistence of the community to overcome the convulsed situation that lived the country at the time of construction.
