Dechibeta Hot Springs are hot springs in the Cabecar people’s indigenous territory at Valle de la Estrella, Talamanca Range, a province of Limón, Costa Rica. Its approximate geographical location is at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:9|43|43.57|N|83|9|20.00|W| | |name= }}. Hot springs found here reach temperatures of 55 degrees Celsius in some points. Little biological research has been done in this area where North American and South American flora overlaps.

Uvita Island

Uvita Island, or Isla Uvita, officially Isla Quiribrí, is a small (0.8 km²) island 885 metres offshore of the port at Limón on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica. The island is 420 metres long from north to south and 315 metres wide, northwest to southeast. It is currently uninhabited, but there is at least one structure on the island, and a small dock.

Matina (canton)

Matina is the name of the fifth canton in the province of Limón in Costa Rica. The canton covers an area of 576.48 km², and has a population of 37,549. Its capital city is also called Matina. The canton includes the Caribbean coast between the mouths of the Río Pacuare to the north and the Río Toro to the south. It lies between the Río Madre de Dios on the northwest side and the Río Toro on the east, and ranges as far south at the Río Boyei in the Cordillera de Talamanca.

1991 Limon earthquake

The 1991 Costa Rica earthquake, also known as Limon Earthquake or Bocas del Toro earthquake, occurred at 3:57 pm local time on April 22, 1991. The epicenter of the 7.8 Mw earthquake was in Pandora, Valle La Estrella, in the Caribbean region of Limon, Costa Rica, 225 kilometres northeast of San José. The earthquake was felt throughout Costa Rica as well as western Panama.
