Zaton is a village in southern Croatia, located on the coast of the eponymous bay, 8 km northwest of Dubrovnik, next to the village of Orašac. Chief occupations are farming, viticulture, olive growing and tourism. Daksa (island)
Daksa is a small uninhabited island in the Croatian part of the Adriatic Sea. It is situated near Dubrovnik in front of Rijeka Dubrovačka ria. The area of the island is about 0.07 km, the highest point is 24 m above sea level. The Daksa's Franciscan monastery was built in 1281. It was destroyed during the French occupation in early 19th century. The island was the site of the Daksa massacre upon Yugoslav partisans entrance of Dubrovnik in late October 1944.
