Gerolakkos

Gerolakkos or Yerolakkos, is a village near Nicosia, the capital of Cyprus. It was the site of intensive fighting during the Turkish invasion in 1974. Gerolakkos is immediately to the north of the ceasefire line, later known as the Green line, separating Occupied Cyprus from the rest of the country. Nowadays the town has a population of over 5 thousand people, most of whom have been moved there from other parts of Cyprus since the invasion of 1974.

RAF Nicosia

Royal Air Force Station Nicosia or RAF Nicosia was a Royal Air Force (RAF) station on the island of Cyprus, built in the 1930s. The station served as Headquarters Royal Air Force Cyprus from 8 June to 29 July 1941. The original principal airport for Cyprus, Nicosia International Airport, was built within the site of the RAF station. Both civil and military aviation on the island operated from the site, although the RAF disestablished the station in 1966.

Eleftheria Indoor Hall

Eleftheria Athletic Center, officially named Tassos Papadopoulos Eleftheria Indoor Hall (Greek: κλειστό στάδιο "Τάσσος Παπαδόπουλος - Ελευθερία" is an indoor arena beside Makario Stadium and Lefkotheo Indoor Hall in Engomi, Nicosia, Cyprus. It is the home venue of the Omonia BC, ETHA Engomis and Cyprus national basketball team. Currently the arena has a capacity around 6,800 seats and it is the biggest sports indoor hall in the island. It was built in 1993.
