Petrovice u Karviné

Petrovice u Karviné is a municipality in Karviná District, Moravian-Silesian Region, Czech Republic. It has a population of 5,350 (2011), which makes it the second largest municipality in the Czech Republic without an official town status. 13% of the population are the ethnic Poles, 1,2% are Slovaks and also 1,2% Silesians. Around 22,7% of the population is religious, which is about the double of the national average.

Dolní Marklovice

is a village in Karviná District, Moravian-Silesian Region, Czech Republic. It was a separate municipality but became administratively a part of Petrovice u Karviné in 1952. Petrůvka River flows through the village. The village of Marklowice was first mentioned in a Latin document of Diocese of Wrocław called Liber fundationis episcopatus Vratislaviensis from around 1305 as Marklowitz. It belonged then to the Duchy of Teschen, formed in 1290.

Jastrzębie-Zdrój

Jastrzębie-Zdrój is a city in south Poland with 92,462 inhabitants (31.12.2010). Its name comes from the Polish words jastrząb and zdrój ("spa" or "spring"). Until the 20th century it was a spa village situated in Upper Silesia. It was granted city rights in 1963. Jastrzębie-Zdrój is currently situated in the Silesian Voivodeship (since 1999), previously in Katowice Voivodeship (1975–1998).
