Veng Abbey

Veng Abbey was one of Denmark's earliest Benedictine monasteries and was located in the village of Veng near Skanderborg, Region of Southern Denmark. The former abbey church, still in use as a parish church, is the oldest remaining in the country.

Galten Municipality

Until January 1, 2007, Galten municipality was a municipality in Aarhus County in the eastern part of the Jutland peninsula in central Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 72,73 km², and had a total population of 11.086 (2005). Its last mayor was Jens Grønlund, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. The site of its municipal council was the town of Galten.

Galten, Denmark

Galten is a former railway town in central Denmark, at the Aarhus-Hammel-Thorsø railroad which was closed in 1956. The town is located in Skanderborg Municipality, Region Midtjylland, Jutland – about 17 km (a little more than 10 mi) – west of Aarhus and is now more or less a satellite town of Aarhus. Today, Galten has almost fused with the neighbouring eastern town of Skovby into an urban area with a population of 7,874 (1 January 2011).

Hørning

Hørning is a town in central Denmark with a population of 7,119 (1 January 2012), located in Skanderborg municipality on the peninsula of Jutland just south of Aarhus and is a suburb today. Hørning should not be mistaken for Herning which is the bigger, more metropolitan city in Jutland where the regional train passing through Hørning is also destined to. Hørning got its name from a bend in the main road that runs through the town.
