Egvad Municipality

Until January 1, 2007, Egvad was a municipality in Ringkøbing County near the west coast of the Jutland peninsula in west Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 377 km², and had a total population of 9,396 (2005). Its last mayor was Kent Skaanning. The municipality's main town and the site of its municipal council was Tarm. Ringkøbing Fjord defined its northwestern border. Egvad municipality ceased to exist due to Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007).

Hemmet

Hemmet is a small town and a parish in the former Egvad Municipality since 1 January 2007 part of the Ringkøbing-Skjern Municipality, Midtjylland, near the west coast of Jutland in Denmark. Hemmet has a town population of 364 (1 January 2011) and a parish population of 622 (1 January 2011). The word "Hemmet" derives from prior Danish, meaning "The home".

Skern Runestone

The Skern Runestone, designated as Danish Runic Inscription 81 or DR 81 in the Rundata catalog, is a Viking Age memorial runestone located in Skjern, Denmark. The stone features a facial mask and a runic inscription which ends in a curse. A fragment of a second runestone designated as DR 80 was also found in Skjern.

Skjern Municipality is a former municipality in Ringkøbing-Skjern Municipality in Region Midtjylland near the west coast of the Jutland peninsula in west Denmark. The former Skjern municipality covered an area of 327 km², and had a total population of 13,107 (2005). The city has a population of 7,563 inhabitants. The main town was Skjern.
