Farsø

Farsø is a town with a population of 3,271 (1 January 2012) in Region Nordjylland in Denmark in the Vesthimmerland municipality. Until January 1, 2007, Farsø was also a municipality in North Jutland County. The municipality covered an area of 201 km², and had a total population of 7,991 (2005). Its last mayor was H. O. A. Kjeldsen, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. Farsø municipality ceased to exist as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007).

Aars Municipality

Aars Municipality - before the Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007), it was a municipality in northern Denmark, in the county of North Jutland on the peninsula of Jutland. The municipality covers an area of 223 km², and had a total population of 13,284 (2005). Its latest mayor was Knud V. Christensen, a member of the Conservative People's Party (Det Konservative Folkeparti) political party.

Vesthimmerland Municipality

Vesthimmerland municipality is a municipality in North Denmark Region in Denmark. It covers an area of 815 km² and a total population of 38,277 (2008). On 1 January 2007 Vesthimmerland municipality was created as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipal Reform" of 2007), consisting of the former municipalities of Aalestrup, Farsø, Løgstør, and Aars.

Aars

Aars is a Danish town with a population of 8,026 (1 January 2012) in the Himmerland area on Jutland. Administratively, it is located in Region Nordjylland in the Vesthimmerland municipality. Aars is renowned for its collection of artwork by Per Kirkeby, politician Svend Auken, and successful business man Jes Lund Bengtsson. Aars was the main town in the now abolished Aars Municipality.

Gundestrup cauldron

The Gundestrup cauldron is a richly decorated silver vessel, thought to date between 200 BC and 300 AD, placing it within the late La Tène period or early Roman Iron Age. The cauldron is the largest known example of European Iron Age silver work . It was found in 1891 in a peat bog near the hamlet of Gundestrup in the Aars parish of Himmerland, Denmark . It is now housed at the National Museum of Denmark in Copenhagen (with a replica in the National Museum of Ireland in Dublin.
