Soqota
Soqota (also transliterated Sekota and related variations) is a town and separate woreda in northern Ethiopia. The name is likely from the Agaw word sekut, "fortified village. Wag is a traditional highland district in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia, in the approximate location of the modern Wag Hemra Zone.
