Argobba special woreda (Afar)

Argobba (or Argoba) is one of the woredas in the Afar Region of Ethiopia. This woreda is named for the Argobba people, whose homeland lies in this district. Located on the eastern escarpment of the Ethiopian highlands, Argobba is bordered on the south, west and north by the Amhara Region, and on the east by Dulecha. Settlements in this woreda include Gachine. The average elevation in this woreda is 471 meters above sea level.

Ankober (woreda)

Ankober is one of the woredas in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia. Located at the eastern edge of the Ethiopian highlands in the Semien Shewa Zone, Ankober is bordered on the south by Asagirt, on the west by Basona Werana, on the north by Termaber, and on the east by the Afar Region. Sela Dingay

Sela Dingay is a town in central Ethiopia. According to Johann Ludwig Krapf, the name means "the jumping stone", named for a rock which rolled over the edge of the southern rim of the gorge of the Mofar River, and killed a group of people sitting on it.

Middle Awash

The Middle Awash is an archaeological site along the Awash River in Ethiopia's Afar Depression. A number of Pleistocene and late Miocene hominid remains have been found at the site, along with some of the oldest known Olduwan stone artifacts and patches of fire-baked clay, disputed evidence of the use of fire. Chimpanzee and human lineages are thought to have split around this time, somewhere between 5 million and 7 million years ago.
