Bluff Cove

Bluff Cove (Spanish: Bahia Agradable or Hoya Fitzroy is a sea inlet and settlement on East Falkland, in the Falkland Islands, on its east coast. It was the site of secondary landings of the Falklands war 1982, which resulted in a successful attack of the Argentine air force, known as the Bluff Cove Disaster. It is near the Mount Pleasant highway overlooking a small harbour.

Fitzroy, Falkland Islands

Fitzroy is a settlement on East Falkland. It is divided into Fitzroy North and Fitzroy South. It is named after Robert FitzRoy who sailed with Charles Darwin on HMS Beagle, and is on the inlet known as Port Pleasant.

Bluff Cove Air Attacks

The Bluff Cove Air Attacks occurred 8 June 1982, during the Falklands War. British troop transport ships were bombed by the Argentine Air Force (FAA) whilst unloading, with significant damage and casualties.
