Tour de l'Honneur

The tour de l'Honneur is a tower and the only remain of the château de Lesparre. Located in Lesparre-Médoc, in the Gironde department and Aquitane region of France, it is listed as a monument historique since September 10, 1913. The tower was the main part of a four towers defensive structure, built in the 14th century. A castle previously occupied the site, referred in 12th century documents as « castello quid dicitur Sparra ».

Château MacCarthy

Château MacCarthy is a wine from the St. -Estèphe appellation area, Haut-Médoc, Bordeaux region, France. Once a significant and independent estate, it was bought by the Duboscq family of Château Haut-Marbuzet in 1988 and the brand has since then been used to label the second wine of their production.

Château Haut-Marbuzet

Château Haut-Marbuzet is a Bordeaux wine estate in the Saint-Estèphe appellation area of the Haut-Médoc. Although its origins go back to the 18th century, the estate only emerged as a leading quality producer from 1952 after Hervé Duboscq acquired it. Today, his son Henri Duboscq is the winemaker and owner of Haut-Marbuzet, along with Château Chambert-Marbuzet and Château Tour de Marbuzet.

Château Chambert-Marbuzet

Château Chambert-Marbuzet is a Bordeaux wine estate of 5 hectares located in the St. -Estèphe appellation area. It belongs to the family of Henri Duboscq. A Cru Bourgeois in 1932, Château Chambert-Marbuzet was elevated to the upper category of Cru Bourgeois Supérieur in 2003.

Gironde estuary

The Gironde is a navigable estuary (often falsely referred to as a river), in southwest France and is formed from the meeting of the rivers Dordogne and Garonne just downstream of the centre of Bordeaux. Covering around 635 km, it is the largest estuary in western Europe. The Gironde is approximately 80 km long and 3–11 km (2–7 miles) wide and the French département Gironde is named after it.
