Telstar
Telstar is the name of various communications satellites. The first two Telstar satellites were experimental and nearly identical. Telstar 1 was launched on top of a Thor-Delta rocket on July 10, 1962. It successfully relayed through space the first television pictures, telephone calls, fax images and provided the first live transatlantic television feed. Telstar 2 was launched May 7, 1963. Île Illiec
Île Illiec is a small island located off the coast of Port-Blanc, Brittany, France. In 1876, Ambrose Thomas constructed the three-storey house, chapel and conical tower that all currently stand on the island. Île Illiec was purchased by the American aviator Charles Lindbergh, following the kidnapping and murder of his son in 1932 and his subsequent move to Europe in 1936.
