Château de Sarzay

The Château de Sarzay is a 14th century castle in the village of Sarzay in the Indre département of France. This imposing medieval fortress comprises 38 towers and three drawbridges. House of George Sand

The House of French writer George Sand (1804-1876) is located in the village of Nohant, in the Indre Department of France. It was purchased by the French state in 1952, and has been preserved as it was when Sand wrote many of her books there and hosted many of the most important artists and writers of her time, including Frédéric Chopin, Balzac, Turgenev, and Delacroix. The writer and her family are buried in a small cemetery between the garden and the village church.

Bouzanne

The Bouzanne is an 84.5 kilometres long river in the Indre département of central France, and is a tributary of the Creuse. Its source is in the commune of Aigurande, 2.5 kilometres northwest of the town itself, near the hamlet of la Bouzanne.

Lac de Chambon

The Lac de Chambon (Chambon Lake) is an artificial lake on the Creuse River, France, created by the Eguzon dam, a hydroelectric dam. Beaches have been created around the lake, the largest in the Centre Region. There is a sailing school on the lake near Eguzon. Canoes, kayaks and pedalos can be hired in season. The lake is also very popular with waterskiers and anglers. It is not be confused with Lac Chambon in the Puy-de-Dôme department or Lac du Chambon in the Isère department.
