Alsace-Lorraine

The Imperial territory of Alsace-Lorraine generally Elsass-Lothringen, was a territory created by the German Empire in 1871 after it annexed most of Alsace and the Moselle region of Lorraine following its victory in the Franco-Prussian War. The Alsatian part lay in the Rhine Valley on the west bank of the Rhine River and east of the Vosges Mountains. Phalsbourg-Bourscheid Air Base

Phalsbourg-Bourscheid Air Base is a former United States Air Force base in France. It is located in the Moselle département, about 2 miles(3 km) west of the town of Phalsbourg, on the north side of the Route nationale 4 (N4) Highway adjacent to the village Saint-Jean-Kourtzerode; 29 miles (47 km) northwest of Strasbourg. During the Cold War, Phalsbourg-Bourscheid was a front-line base for the United States Air Forces in Europe (USAFE).

Vezouze (river)

The Vezouze is a river in north-eastern France, right tributary to the river Meurthe. Its source is on Mont Donon in the Vosges département. The river joins the Meurthe on the northern edge of Lunéville, France, the former capital of Lorraine that was strategically located there. In the 18th century the dukes of Lorraine channelled the flow of the water into a series of garden follies at the Château de Lunéville.
