Château de Flamarens

The Château de Flamarens is a castle in the commune of Flamarens in the Gers département of France. A castrum is mentioned on the site in 1289 and is believed to have been remodelled in the 14th century. Additional building work and alterations were made some time between 1469 and about 1475 by Jean de Cazanove for Jean de Grosolles. The northern part was built before 1536 by Georges Dauzières for Arnaud de Grossolles. Alterations were made in the 18th century (windows and interior decoration).

Arrats

The Arrats is a 162 km long river in southern France, left tributary of the Garonne. Its source is in the northern foothills of the Pyrenees, near Sariac-Magnoac. It flows north through the following départements and towns: Hautes-Pyrénées Gers: Castelnau-Barbarens, Aubiet, Mauvezin, Saint-Clar Tarn-et-Garonne: Saint-Loup It flows into the Garonne near Valence, between Castelsarrasin and Agen.

Château de Sainte-Mère

The Château de Sainte-Mère is a 13th century ruined castle in the commune of Sainte-Mère in the Gers département of France. The castle was built at the time of the Treaty of Amiens (1279) by the Bishop of Lectoure, Géraud de Monlezun. It defended the frontier of the English possessions. The castle had a rectangular shape, with two towers attached to the north facade. It has been listed since 1977 as a monument historique by the French Ministry of Culture.

Léon Lemartin

Théodore Clovis Edmond Lemartin, known as Léon Lemartin (20 October 1883 Dunes, Tarn-et-Garonne – 18 June 1911, Vincennes) was a pioneer aviator who set a world record on 3 February 1911 at Pau, France when he carried seven passengers in a Blériot XIII Aerobus. He then took eight, eleven and thirteen passengers aloft the following month.
