Battle of Rocheserviere

The Battle of Rocheserviere was fought at Rocheservièreon the 20 June 1815, between Vendéen Royalists, who had remained loyal to King Louis XVIII and the Army of the West, commanded by General Jean Maximilien Lamarque. The battle ended with the defeat of the Royalist forces and five days later in the signing of the Treaty of Cholet.

Château d'Apremont

The Château d'Apremont is a ruined 16th century château in the commune of Apremont in the Vendée département of France. It was constructed on a promontory overlooking the valley of the Vie. Portions of it are believed to date from the 13th century. The two extant towers were built by Philippe Chabot de Brion in the first half of the 16th century. This château is one of approximately 300 châteaux of the Loire Valley tour. The Château d'Apremont is the property of the commune.

Lac de Grand-Lieu

Lac de Grand-Lieu is a lake located to the south-west of Nantes, in the Loire-Atlantique, France, and almost entirely in Saint-Philbert-de-Grand-Lieu. At an elevation of 5 m, its surface area is 62.92 km². The lake is classified as a Local Nature Reserve, and use of boats on the lake are prohibited for all but a small number of licensed professional fishermen.

Boulogne (river)

The river Boulogne is located in the west of France in the départements Loire-Atlantique, and Vendée. It is 82 km in length and flows north from the source near Saint-Martin-des-Noyers, through Les Essarts and La Merlatière, then through Boulogne, Vendée and Les Lucs-sur-Boulogne into the Lac de Grand-Lieu.
