Erching transmitter

The Erching transmitter was a longwave broadcasting facility of the Voice of America, established in 1953 near Erching, Bavaria, Germany. The transmitter used a 256 metre high guyed-steel-framework mast aerial, at the time of its inauguration the most powerful radio station in the world with a transmitting power of 1000 kilowatts In 1973 the transmitter was shut down because of a relaxed political climate. In 1979 it was used for LORAN-D tests.

Kempinski Hotel Airport Munich

The Kempinski Hotel Airport Munich is part of Munich Airport International. It is located between Terminal 1 and 2. Following a construction period of 20 months, the hotel opened on May 17, 1994, two years after the airport went into operation. The architect of the hotel is German-born Helmut Jahn of the Chicago based Murphy/Jahn Architectural Group.

Weihenstephan

Weihenstephan is a part of Freising north of Munich, Germany. Weihenstephan is known for: the Benedictine Weihenstephan Abbey, founded 725, which established the oldest still operating brewery in the world (1040). The brewery is now a company called Bayerische Staatsbrauerei Weihenstephan (Bavarian State Brewery Weihenstephan, i.e. it is owned by the State of Bavaria) and closely related to the TUM and its graduate studies program for brewing and beverage manufacturing.
