Fritzlar Air Base

Fritzlar Air Base is a military air field of the German Army Aviation Corps. It is located near the town of Fritzlar in northern Hesse, Germany. The airfield is part of the Georg-Friedrich-Kaserne (Georg-Friedrich-Barracks). Fritzlar is the home of Kampfhubschrauberregiment 36 "Kurhessen" (Attack Helicopter Regiment 36 "Kurhessen"), which is flying the MBB Bo 105 in anti-tank (PAH-1 & PAH-1A1) and light transport (VBH) version.

Schwalm

The Schwalm is a river in Hesse, Germany, right tributary of the Eder. It rises on the north side of the Vogelsberg Mountains. It flows north through Alsfeld, Schwalmstadt and Borken. The Schwalm flows into the Eder near Wabern, east of Fritzlar, after a total length of 97 km. In the 19th century, many Schwalms of German origin moved to the Topeka, Kansas region in the United States. A Schwalm museum is situated in the greater Topeka area today.

The formerly independent community of Großenenglis has been since its amalgamation with Borken in 1974 with its population then of 1,190 the northernmost and largest by land area (988 ha) of Borken's constituent communities. The following constituent communities are in direct neighbourhood. In the south is Gombeth, in the west Kleinenglis and in the east Udenborn (among to the municipal of Wabern).

Lendorf, Borken

Lendorf is a constituent community of Borken and had its first documentary mention in 1221 as "Lintdorf". Once an independent community, it has now been amalgamated with Borken since 1971. Lendorf has about 400 inhabitants. 474 Hectare (51,020,886 sq ft) are the boundary of Lendorf.
