HVDC HelWin1

HVDC HelWin1 is a planned HVDC link, which should connect the offshore wind park Northsea East with the power grid of the German mainland. The link will consist of a 130 kilometres long bipolar cable, from which 45 kilometres will be laid on land underground. As valves IGBTs will be used. The operation voltage will be 250 kV, the maximum transmission rate 576 MW.

Eddelak-Sankt Michaelisdonn

Eddelak-Sankt Michaelisdonn was an Amt Kirchspielslandgemeinde ("collective municipality") in the district of Dithmarschen, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It was situated near the Kiel Canal, approx. 25 km south of Heide, and 10 km north of Brunsbüttel. Its seat was in Sankt Michaelisdonn. In January 2008, it was merged with the Amt Burg-Süderhastedt to form the Amt Burg-Sankt Michaelisdonn.

Wilstermarsch

Wilstermarsch is an Amt ("collective municipality") in the district of Steinburg, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is situated around Wilster, which is the seat of the Amt, but not part of it. Wacken Open Air

Wacken Open Air is a summer open air heavy metal music festival. It takes place annually in the small village of Wacken in Schleswig-Holstein, northern Germany. With 80,000 festival visitors, and including personnel a total of roughly 86,000 attendees in 2011, it attracts all kinds of metal music fans, such as fans of black metal, death metal, power metal, thrash metal, gothic metal, folk metal, and even metalcore, nu metal and hard rock from around the world.

Kiel Canal

The Kiel Canal, known as the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Kanal until 1948, is a 98-kilometre long canal in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein. The canal links the North Sea at Brunsbüttel to the Baltic Sea at Kiel-Holtenau. An average of 250 nautical miles is saved by using the Kiel Canal instead of going around the Jutland Peninsula. This not only saves time but also avoids potentially dangerous storm-prone seas.
