It is situated on the Piraeus–Platy railway, at km 40.086 from Piraeus. The station was opened on March 8, 1904. It has two platforms. It is located outside the village of Afidnes. After the station was built, a new settlement arose near it named Stathmos Afidnon ("Afidnes station").
