Vrontou is a town of the former Municipality of Dio, which is part of the municipality of Dio-Olympos, in the Pieria regional unit, Central Macedonia, Greece, at an altitude of 120 meters, with 2,081 inhabitants (census 2001). Battle of Pydna

Paralia Skotinas

Paralia Skotinas is a seaside settlement which is part of the municipality of Dio-Olympos, in the Pieria regional unit, Central Macedonia, Greece. It is 6 κm from Leptokarya, 1 km from Paralia Panteleimonos (Castle) and 1κm from Skotina. In this point its view of the Castle of Platamon, is unique.

Thermaic Gulf

The Thermaic Gulf is a gulf of the Aegean Sea located immediately south of Thessaloniki regional unit, east of Pieria and Imathia, and west of Chalkidiki. It was named after the ancient town of Therma, which was situated on the northeast coast of the gulf (Therma was later renamed Thessalonica). Near Thessaloniki, the length (north-south) of the gulf is about 100 km, while its width (east-west) is about 5 km.
