Kalandra

Kalandra is a small town on Kassandra, the westernmost peninsula of Chalkidiki. In ancient Greece it was the site of the town of Mende, one of the many colonies in Chalkidiki founded by Chalcis, the main city on the island of Euboia. Mende was also the birthplace of the sculptor Paeionius, (also Paionios), who made a statue of Nike, which was put on top of the victory pillar in Olympia, and is currently in the Archaeological Museum of Olympia. There was also a temple of Poseidon.

Kassandreia

Kassandreia is a town in Chalkidiki, northern Greece. It is the seat of the municipality of Kassandra, in the center of the peninsula. Relatively unknown because of its zero tourist attraction but full of life in winter. Known in Greece for being the smallest town with a football team playing for the Beta Ethniki (managed to take the 4th place) and for the high debt the municipality was in at the start of the 2000s.

Pallene, Chalcidice

For other Pallenes, see Pallene. Pallene is the ancient name of the westernmost of the three headlands of Chalcidice, which run out into the Aegean Sea. Its modern name is Kassandra Peninsula (Χερσόνησος Κασσάνδρας). It is said to have anciently borne the name of Phlegra (Φλέγρα) and to have witnessed the conflict between the gods and the earthborn Gigantes.

Afytos

Afytos is a village in Chalkidiki, northern Greece. It is part of the municipality Kassandra. It is situated on the northeastern coast of the Kassandra peninsula, 6 km northeast of Kassandreia, 31 km south of Polygyros and 73 km southeast of Thessaloniki. In 2001 its population was 1,227. Its elevation is 50 m. The area around Afytos consists of farmlands in low hills. Its economy is based on agriculture and tourism.

Cassandrea, Cassandreia, or Cassandria was once one of the most important cities in Ancient Macedonia founded by and named after Cassander in 316 BC located on the site of the earlier Ancient Greek city of Potidaea.
