It is situated between farmlands in the plains on the right bank of the river Erythropotamos, at 40 m elevation. In 2001 its population was 557. It is 3 km northeast of Asvestades, 4 km southwest of Mani, and 10 km northwest of Didymoteicho.

Koufovouno

Koufovouno is a settlement in the municipality of Didymoteicho in the northern Evros regional unit, Greece. It is situated on a low hill near the right bank of the river Erythropotamos, at 70 m elevation. In 2001 its population was 958. It is 3 km southwest of Ellinochori, 5 km southeast of Kyani, and 5 km west of Didymoteicho.

Mani, Evros

Mani is a village and a community in the municipality of Didymoteicho in the Evros regional unit, Greece. It is situated near the left bank of the river Erythropotamos, 2 km west of Karoti, 4 km northeast of Kyani and 10 km northwest of Didymoteicho town centre. In 2001 its population was 526 for the village and 757 for the community, which includes the villages Evgeniko and Sitaria. Its elevation is 55 m.

Lavara

Lavara is a town located in the eastern part of Evros regional unit. In 1821, Lavara participated in the Greek War of Independence and rose up against the Ottoman Empire. It was the seat of the municipality of Orfeas. It is located 2 km from Turkey and the western bank of the river Evros.

Erythropotamos

The Erythropotamos (Greek: Ερυθροπόταμος, meaning "red river") or Luda reka (Bulgarian: Луда река, meaning "mad river") is a river in southern Bulgaria and northeastern Greece. Its Turkish name was Küzüldeli Su. Its source is near Mega Dereio. It flows into the Maritsa (Evros) near Didymoteicho. The source of the river is in the eastern Rhodope Mountains in the western Evros regional unit, Greece, near the village Mikro Dereio.
