Mosynopolis

The town was destroyed by the Bulgarian tsar Kaloyan in 1207 after his victory over the Latin Empire in the battle of Mosynopolis. The monk Ephrem says that the city had been taken in 1190 by Frederick I, Holy Roman Emperor.
