Orchomenus (Arcadia)

Orchomenus or Orchomenos was an ancient city of Arcadia, Greece, called by Thucydides (v. 61) the Arcadian Orchomenus (Ὀρχομενός ὁ Ἀρκαδικός), to distinguish it from the Boeotian town. Its ruins are near the modern village of Orchomenos .

Mainalo

The Mainalo is a mountain range that spans about 15 to 20 from north to south and from east to west from 5 to 10 km (from Zygovisti to Kapsas). Much of the area used to be covered in old-growth forests but most were burnt in 2000 and especially in September 2011. In the medieval times and until the late-20th century, the mountain was known as Apano Chrepa. It is also a village which is located in the mountain range and dates back to the ancient times.

Skoteini

Skoteini is a small mountain village 57 kilometres southwest of the town of Argos in the Peloponnese, southern Greece. It has an area of 44 km² and sits at an altitude of 690 meters above sea level. Its name derives from the Greek word for "darkness". According to the 1991 census, the population of Skoteini was 371, a drop from the 1981 census, when the town was inhabited by 412 people.

Argyrokastro Castle

Argyrokastro (Greek: Αργυρόκαστρο, "silver castle") is a castle in the region of the Peloponnese, Greece. It is located in mountainous Arcadia, near the village of Magouliana, at an elevation of 1,450 m. It is also known as the Gortyniako dynamari (Γορτυνιακό δυναμάρι, "Gortynian stronghold"). The castle was erected during the Frankish rule by the Villehardouin dynasty of the Principality of Achaea, and served as their summer retreat.
