Soesdyke is a village in the Essequibo Islands-West Demerara Region (Region 3), Guyana, located between the Demerara River and the East Bank Public Road where the Soesdyke-Linden Highway begins. It is about 3 miles northeast of the Cheddi Jagan International Airport.

Timehri is a town in Guyana located 41 kilometers to the south of the nation's capital Georgetown. South Dakota Circuit
South Dakota Circuit is a permanent motor racing track in Timehri, behind the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Guyana. It is operated by the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club. The circuit hosts national circuit racing including the GMR&SC Skyline Mortgage Caribbean Race of Champions and various drag racing events. On May 9, 2008, the Stabroek News published a letter from a reader that suggested that the circuit lacks adequate washroom facilities.

Caribbean Airlines Flight 523 was a passenger flight which overran the runway at Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Georgetown, Guyana, on 30 July 2011. Seven of the 163 aboard suffered injuries. The aircraft involved, a Boeing 737-8BK, was operating Caribbean Airlines' scheduled international service from John F. Kennedy Airport, New York to Georgetown, with a stopover in Piarco International Airport, Port of Spain, Trinidad.
