Hungarian Grand Prix
The first Hungarian Grand Prix was held on June 21, 1936 over a 3.1-mile track laid out in Népliget, a park in Budapest. The Mercedes-Benz, Auto Union, and Ferrari teams all sent three cars and the event drew a very large crowd. However, politics and the ensuing war meant the end of Grand Prix motor racing in the country for fifty years. A major coup by Bernie Ecclestone, the 1986 Hungarian Grand Prix was the first Formula One race to take place behind the Iron Curtain.

Hungaroring
The Hungaroring is a motor-racing circuit in Mogyoród, near Budapest, Hungary where the Formula One Hungarian Grand Prix is held. In 1986, it became the location of the first Formula One Grand Prix behind the Iron Curtain. Bernie Ecclestone wanted a race in the USSR, but a Hungarian friend of his recommended Budapest.

Hungarian motorcycle Grand Prix
The Hungarian motorcycle Grand Prix was a motorcycling event that had been part of the Grand Prix motorcycle racing World Championship. Only two editions were held, and despite efforts to engineer a return in 2010 at the Balatonring circuit, the race did not take place and was replaced on the calendar by the Aragon motorcycle Grand Prix.
