Dinjan

Dinjan (or Dinjaygaon) is a small township in Dibrugarh district of Assam, India. It is located in the tea growing area of Assam. The closest town to it is Tinsukhia. Dinjan became prominent during World War II when it had an airfield there from which C-47 of the CNAC flew over the "Hump" into Kunming in China carrying much needed supplies for the forces of Gen Chiang Kai Shek for the war against Japan. Other similar airfields in the vicinity were Chabua, Ledo, Mohanbari, Doom Dooma.

Chabua Air Force Station

Chabua Air Force Station is an Indian Air Force base located at Chabua in the state of Assam, India. Currently used as a training airfield, the MiG-21 (FL) fighters assigned train young fighter pilots, thus, enabling a smooth transition to an operational role in the frontline squadrons of IAF. The unit calls itself ‘the young ones’. Formed in October, 1966 with the motto Abhyasen hi Kaushalayam, the unit has a glorious and chequered history since its establishment.
