Arki Fort

Arki fort is located in Arki, India, a town in Himachal Pradesh . The Arki Fort was built between 1695 - 1700 by Rana Prithvi Singh, a descendent of Rana Sabha Chand. The Fort was captured by the Gurkhas in 1806. Rana Jagat Singh, the ruler of Baghal had to take refuge in Nalagarh. During this period from 1806 - 1815, the Gurkha General Amar Singh Thapa used Arki as his stronghold to make further advances into Himachal Pradesh as far as Kangra.

Arki is a town and a Nagar panchayat in Solan district in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India. The town is notable for its fort built in late 18th century when Arki was the capital of the erstwhile hill state of Baghal.

Baghal, India

Baghal, covering an area of 312 km² and currently a part of Himachal Pradesh state, was one of the Princely states of India during the period of the British Raj. The state was founded by Rana Sabha Chand in the year 1643, and was acceded to India on 15 April 1948. The capital of Baghal was Arki.

Shimla Airport

Shimla Airport is an airport located in Jabarhatti, 22 kilometres from Shimla in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The airport was constructed by cutting down a mountaintop and leveling the area to form the single runway. The small apron has space for two small aircraft to park simultaneously. The small terminal can handle 50 persons for arriving flights, but only 40 for departing flights.

Kahlur

Kahlur (also known as Bilaspur), covering an area of 1173 km², and currently a part of Himachal Pradesh state, was one of the Princely states of India during the period of the British Raj. The state was founded in/around 697 by Kahal Chand. Kahal Chand had built a fort, which was named after him, and was called Kahlur Fort. Another ruler of the state, Dip Chand founded the city of Bilaspur, and made it his capital. The state was acceded to India on 12 October 1948.
