It is a small town prettily situated on the sloping plateau of the foot hills of the mountains near the east side of the Wullar Purgana in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. Tral is situated at the edge of plateau divided into upper and lower mohallas. The houses that are built on this range are mostly made up of bricks (some sun dried and some baked).
