Mairang

Mairang is a town and a town area committee in West Khasi Hills district in the Indian state of Meghalaya. It is located at about 40 km from the state capital Shillong,and 45 km(approx. ) from the district headquarters, Nongstoin along National Highway 44E (Shillong-Nongstoin-Tura).

Khasi Hills

The Khasi Hills are part of the Garo-Khasi range in the Indian state of Meghalaya (before 1970 part of Assam), and is part of the Patkai range and of the Meghalaya subtropical forests ecoregion. In older sources in particular, the alternative transcription Khasia Hills is seen. The region is inhabited mainly by tribal Khasi dwellers, which are traditionally in various chieftainships, petty states known as the Khasi Hill States.

Mawphlang

Mawphlang is a village in the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya state in north-eastern India, 25 kilometers from Shillong. The word maw means "stone", maw phlang means "grassy stone," and is one of many settlements in the Khasi hills named after monoliths. Mawphlang was the centre of Presbyterian Church of Wales missionary and medical activity in the Khasi Hills during the 1890s.
