Indian Institute of Management Tiruchirappalli (also known as IIM-T or IIM-Trichy) is one of the seven Indian Institutes of Management the government has set up during the Eleventh Five-Year Plan. Inaugurated on January 4, 2011, it is the eleventh Indian Institute of Management in the country, and it is mentored by IIM Bangalore. Classes for the first batch began on June 15, 2011. Bharathidasan University (BDU) is a university in the city of Tiruchirapalli, Tamil Nadu state, India. It has affiliated colleges in districts of the state, including Nagapattinam, Perambalur, Pudukkottai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur and Tiruchirapalli. Bharathidasan Institute of Technology

Bharathidasan Institute of Technology (or BIT) (formerly the School of Engineering and Technology) was established by Bharathidasan University in 1999. BIT was located in the downtown Khajamalai Campus and was moved to the South Campus (Technology Campus) in 2001.
