Temanggung Regency

Temanggung Regency (Kabupaten Temanggung) is a regency in the Central Java Province of Indonesia. Its capital is Temanggung. All travelers going to the Dieng temple complex from Yogya or Semarang have to pass this regency. Temanggung Regency is famous for longan, a small sweet fruit that is harvested in January and February.

Mount Sumbing

Mount Ungaran

Mount Ungaran is a deeply eroded stratovolcano, located in the south of Semarang, Indonesia. There are no historical records about the mountain activities. Two active fumarole fields are found on the southern flanks.

Gedong Songo

Gedong Songo (Indonesian: Candi Gedong Songo) is a Hindu temple located in Central Java, Indonesia. The site was originally built during the Sanjaya dynasty which controlled Central Java during the 8th and 9th centuries. Similar to Dieng Plateau, Gedong Songo was erected out of volcanic stone and the two complexes represent the oldest Hindu structures in Java. Dieng and Gedong Songo predate Borobudur and Prambanan.

Dieng Volcanic Complex

Dieng Volcanic Complex is on the Dieng Plateau in the Central Java, Indonesia, as a complex of volcanoes. The volcanic complex consists of two or more of stratovolcanoes, more than 20 small craters and Pleistocene-to-Holocene age volcanic cones. It covers over 6 × 14 km area. The Prahu stratovolcano was truncated by a large Pleistocene caldera and then filled by parasitic cones, lava domes and craters which is 120 Celsius. Some of them are turned into lakes.
