Hawija

Hawija is a town near Kirkuk north of Baghdad. Hawijah is in the Al-Tamim province of Iraq and approximately 30 miles south of Kirkuk. There are approximately 450,000 people in and around Hawijah with an estimated 80% Sunni Population. While the city itself has about 150.000 with 98% Sunni population. U.S. and Iraqi forces have experienced numerous lethal attacks in the area from Sunni insurgents.

Joint Base Balad

Joint Base Balad, formerly Balad Air Base and Logistics Support Area Anaconda, or simply LSA Anaconda - formerly known as Al-Bakr Air Base and known in popular media as Camp Anaconda - was one of the largest United States military bases in Iraq during the Iraq War. It was formerly the largest Iraqi Air Force base during the Saddam Hussein era. The Army's 310th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) and the Air Force's 332d Air Expeditionary Wing were headquartered at JBB.

Samarra East Air Base

Samarra East Air Base is a former Iraqi Air Force base in the Diyala Governorate of Iraq. It was captured by Coalition forces during Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003.

Camp Ashraf

Camp Ashraf or Ashraf City was a refugee camp in Iraq's Diyala province and headquarters of the exiled People's Mujahedin of Iran (PMOI/MEK). The population used to be around 3,400 in 2012 but 2,000 have been relocated to BIAP (Baghdad International Airport) with 1,500 of the leadership and staunch resisters, remain at Camp Ashraf.

Dujail

Dujail is a small Shi'a town in the Saladin Province. It is situated about 65 kilometers north of Iraq's capital, Baghdad, and has approximately 10,000 inhabitants. It is the site of the 1982 Dujail Massacre and the 2008 Dujail bombing.
