Al-Hindiya or Hindiya is a city in Iraq on the Euphrates River. Nouri al Maliki went to school there in his younger days. Al-Hindiya is located in the Kerbala Governorate. The tomb of Hussein ibn Ali is one of the holiest places for Shias outside of Mecca and Medina, and many make pilgrimages to the site.
