Lough Foyle

Lough Foyle, sometimes Loch Foyle (from Irish: Loch Feabhail, meaning "Lough of Feabhal"), is the estuary of the River Foyle in Ulster. It starts where the Foyle leaves Derry. It separates the Inishowen Peninsula in County Donegal, Republic of Ireland from County Londonderry in Northern Ireland.

Foyle (Assembly constituency)

Foyle is a constituency in the Northern Ireland Assembly. The seat was first used for a Northern Ireland-only election for the Northern Ireland Forum in 1996. Since 1998, it has elected members to the current Assembly. For Assembly elections prior to 1996, the constituency was largely part of the Londonderry constituency. Since 1997, it has shared boundaries with the Foyle UK Parliament constituency.

Culmore

Culmore (from Irish: Cúil Mhór/an Chúil Mhór, meaning "the great corner") is a village and townland in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It is between Derry and Muff, at the mouth of the River Foyle. In the 2001 Census it had a population of 2,960 people. Upper culmore is home to many of Derry's upper class population and culmore in general is one of the more expensive areas to live in the city.

Greysteel massacre

The Greysteel massacre was a mass shooting that happened on the evening of 30 October 1993 in Greysteel, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. Three members of the Ulster Defence Association (UDA), a loyalist paramilitary group, opened fire in a crowded pub during a Halloween party, killing eight civilians and wounding thirteen. The pub was in an Irish Catholic and Irish nationalist area.

Greysteel

Greysteel or Gresteel is a village in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It lies 9 miles to the east of Derry and 7 miles to the west of Limavady on the main A2 coast road between Limavady and Derry, overlooking Lough Foyle. It is designated as a Large Village and in the 2001 Census it had a population of 1,229 people, an increase of almost 20% compared to 1991.
