Ohel Ya'akov Synagogue, Zikhron Ya'akov

Ohel Ya'akov Synagogue located in Zikhron Ya'akov, a town in the Haifa District of Israel, was established in 1866 by Baron Edmond James de Rothschild. Rothschild commissioned the construction the synagogue in memory of his father Jacob Mayer de Rothschild. It was completed in 1884. Its name, Ohel Yaakov, means "Tent of Jacob" and alludes to the biblical Jacob, who "dwelled in tents" according to Genesis 25:27.

Kebara Cave

Kebara Cave is an Israeli limestone cave locality of the Wadi Kebara, situated at 60 - 65 metres ASL on the western escarpment of the Carmel Range, some 10km north-east of Caesarea. The cave was inhabited between 60,000 - 48,000 BP and is famous for its excavated finds of hominid remains, made under the direction of Professor Ofer Bar-Yosef.

Es Skhul

Es Skhul is a cave site situated c. 20 kilometers south of the city of Haifa, Israel, and c. 3 kilometers from the Mediterranean Sea. The prehistoric site, was first excavated by Dorothy Garrod in the summer of 1928. The excavations revealed the first evidence of the late Epipalaeolithic Natufian culture, characterised by the presence of abundant microliths, human burials and ground stone tools.
