Faenza railway station

Faenza railway station (Italian: Stazione di Faenza) serves the city and comune of Faenza, in the region of Emilia-Romagna, northern Italy. Opened in 1893, it forms part of the Bologna–Ancona railway, and is also a terminus of two secondary railways, linking Faenza with Ravenna and Florence, respectively. The Giardino Botanico del Museo Civico di Scienze Naturali di Faenza is a botanical garden located on the grounds of the Museo Civico di Scienze Naturali, Via Medaglie d'Oro n. 51, Faenza, Province of Ravenna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy. For the 6th century battle near Faenza, see Battle of Faventia. The Battle of Faenza or Battle of Castel Bolognese on 3 or 4 February 1797 saw a 7,000-man force from the Papal States commanded by Michelangelo Alessandro Colli-Marchi face a 9,000-strong French corps under Claude Victor-Perrin. The veteran French troops decisively defeated the Papal army, inflicting disproportionate casualties.
