Sandals Cay

Sandals Cay (formerly called Kokomo Island) is part of the privately owned Sandals Royal Caribbean all-inclusive resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica. It is apparent that Sandals has an almost identical island in their Nassau, Bahamas location called the Royal Bahamian. The original name for the island came from the song "Kokomo," written by John Phillips, Mike Love, Terry Melcher, and Scott McKenzie, and performed by The Beach Boys.

Roman Catholic Diocese of Montego Bay

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Montego Bay is a diocese of the Roman Catholic Church. Formerly a member of the Diocese of Kingston, it is now a suffragansee of the Metropolitan See of the Archdiocese of Kingston, located on the northwest part of the island of Jamaica. It was erected on September 14, 1967 by Pope Paul VI. The diocese of Montego Bay is made up of five civic parishes: St. James in Montego Bay, Trewlany in Falmouth, St. Ann in St.

Avianca Flight 671

Avianca Flight 671 was a flight using a Lockheed Constellation that crashed and burned on landing at Montego Bay, Jamaica, on 21 January 1960, killing 37 people, making it the worst accident in Jamaican aviation history. This was the first accident for the Colombian national airline Avianca. The aircraft was a Lockheed L-1049E Super Constellation that was used by Avianca for its Bogota-Montego Bay routes.

CanJet Flight 918

CanJet Flight 918 (CJA 918, C6 918) was a flight that was on 19 April 2009 to have taken off from Sangster International Airport (MBJ), Montego Bay, Jamaica, bound for Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ), Halifax, Canada, but was instead seized before takeoff for hours by an armed, lone hijacker. This was the first incidence of a hijacking on Jamaican soil, and only the second time a Canadian airliner has been hijacked.
