Anorisaki Lighthouse

is a lighthouse located on the top of Shima Peninsula in the city of Shima, Mie Prefecture, Japan. The Anorisaki Lighthouse was designed and constructed by British engineer Richard Henry Brunton, and was first lit on April 1, 1873. It is noteworthy in that it is the first lighthouse in Japan to use a rotating Fresnel lens. The octagonal structure was built out of Zelkova serrata wood, and had a total height of 10.6 meters.
