Shinonoi Line

The Shinonoi Line is a railway line in Nagano Prefecture, Japan, operated by the East Japan Railway Company (JR East). It runs from Shinonoi Station in Nagano to Shiojiri Station in Shiojiri. The line is a corridor between the Shinetsu Main Line and the Chūō Main Line. All the limited express trains on the Shinonoi Line come from the Chūō Main Line: Azusa and Super Azusa from Tokyo and Shinano from Nagoya.

Matsumoto Castle

, also known as the "Crow Castle" because of its black exterior, is one of Japan's premier historic castles. It is located in the city of Matsumoto, in Nagano Prefecture and is within easy reach of Tokyo by road or rail. The keep (tenshukaku), which was completed in the late 16th century, maintains its original wooden interiors and external stonework. It is listed as a National Treasure of Japan.
