Torahime, Shiga was a town located in Higashiazai District, Shiga, Japan. As of 2003, the town had an estimated population of 5,737 and a density of 607.09 persons per km². The total area was 9.45 km². On January 1, 2010, several municipalities were merged into the city of Nagahama. Kohoku and Torahime in Higashiazai District and Kinomoto, Nishiazai, Takatsuki, and Yogo in Ika District and merged into Nagahama. Higashiazai District and Ika District were both dissolved.

Nagahama Station
is a railway station on the Hokuriku Main Line in Nagahama, Shiga, Japan, operated by West Japan Railway Company (JR West). Between 1991 and 2006, the station was the dividing point of electrification systems (south of the station, including the station, was 1500 V DC and north was 20,000 V AC) so that all regional trains from Osaka and Kyoto using DC-only electric multiple units terminated at this station.
