Dana Biosphere Reserve is Jordan's largest nature reserve, located in south-central Jordan. Dana Biosphere Reserve was founded in 1989 in the area in and around the Dana village and Wadi Dana comprising 308 square kilometres .

Dana, Jordan

Dana (ضانا) is a small village near the city of Tafilah, in central-western Jordan. It is situated on the edge of a large natural gorge, Wadi Dana and enjoys spectacular view over Wadi Araba. Dana is about 500 years old, and preserves many aspects of Jordanian villages of the 19th century villages of Jordan. It hosts Dana nature reserve, one of Jordan's premier nature reserves with eco-tourism facilities.

Punon

Punon is an ancient city in the Arava, Jordan. It was a center of Copper and Iron mines in biblical times. Today it is called Feinan or Faynan. Punon was one of the places (or "stations") visited by the Israelites during the Exodus. "They traveled from Tzalmonah, and encamped in Punon."

Tafilah Governorate

Tafilah is one of the governorates of Jordan, located about 180 km south-west of Amman, Jordan's capital. Tafilah Governorate is bordered by Karak Governorate to the north, Ma'an Governorate to the east and south, Aqaba Governorate to the south, and by Israel to the west. Khirbat en-Nahas

Built around 3,000 years ago, Khirbat en-Nahas — or Khirbet en Nahas — is one of the largest copper mining and smelting sites of the ancient world. It lies in a desert valley between the Dead Sea and the Gulf of Aqaba, now in Jordan. There is evidence for sophisticated economic and political activity in the valley about 3,000 years ago and archaeologists think it may be the site of an early organized state.
