Kosovo

Kosovo is a region in southeastern Europe. In antiquity, the Dardanian kingdom, and later Roman province of Dardania was located in the region. It was part of Serbia in the Middle Ages, during which time many important Christian monasteries, some of which are now UNESCO World Heritage sites, were built. The Battle of Kosovo in 1389 is regarded by Serbs as a defining moment in their history and identity.

Drsnik

Drsnik is a settlement in the Klina municipality of Kosovo. It is a settlement which has had a strong Serbian majority. In June 1999 the Serbian population fled due to war. Serbs returned to the village after five years, on June 2005. The church of St. Paraskeva, which dates back to the 16th century, was completely torched inside in June 1999 and is undergoing complete renewal and restoration of the surviving frescoes.
