Tuxpan, Veracruz

Tuxpan (or Túxpam, fully Túxpam de Rodríguez Cano) is both a municipality and city located in the Mexican state of Veracruz. The population of the city was 78,523 and of the municipality was 134,394 inhabitants, according to the INEGI census of 2005, residing in a total area of 1,051.89 km² (406.14 sq mi). The municipality includes many smaller outlying communities, the largest of which are Alto Lucero and Santiago de la Peña.

Tamiahua

Tamiahua is a municipality located in the north zone in the State of Veracruz. It has a surface of 985.4 km2. It is located at {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:21|17|N|97|27|W||| | |name= }}. The name comes from the náhuatl. Tla-mia-hua-c; "In the flowers of maize of the land"; in huasteco, Tam-yan-ja; "Place of great waters".

Álamo bus accident

The 2012 Mexico bus crash occurred on April 20, 2012 near the city of Álamo, Veracruz, Mexico, when a trailer broke loose from a truck and crashed into a passenger bus. Of the 70 people on board, 43 were killed in the crash, the other 17 citizens being seriously injured. Four minors were among the dead, a local municipal spokesman said. One local news network said the bus was carrying 70 passengers, but only had capacity for less than 60.
