It is the center of the Serb Orthodox Eparchy of Budimlje-Nikšić in Montenegro. It was founded by the nephew of Stefan Nemanja, Stefan Prvoslav, son of Duke Tihomir, in 1213.

Dolac Airport
Dolac Airport (Serbian: Аеродром Долац, Aerodrom Dolac) is an airport located near Berane, Montenegro. Berane was known as Ivangrad from July 1949 to March 1992, hence the IATA code IVG. It is one of the four Montenegrin airports to feature paved runway and one of three Montenegrin airports to have terminal building. Berane Airport was used for regular airline traffic during the SFRY era, but has since fell into disuse. Today is used mostly by general aviation.

Gradski Stadion is a multi-purpose stadium in Berane, Montenegro. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of FK Berane. The stadium holds 11,000 people, and it is a second largest stadium in Montenegro.
